When the Same Trip Stops Feeling Special

The Problem

A fast-growing direct sales company had been running incentive trips for years, but something had shifted. The format that once excited their top earners had started to feel routine. Attendees still wanted to go, but the experience wasn't something they talked about the way they used to. The company needed a new approach without blowing up the budget or adding more work to their plate.

The Solution

Morris Meetings and Incentives (MMI) recommended a Caribbean cruise as an alternative to the traditional all-inclusive resort. The idea was simple: rather than delivering a packaged experience where everyone does the same things at the same times, the cruise gave earners the freedom to decide how to spend the trip they had worked hard to earn. They could book excursions, stay on the ship, or simply wander. The structure got out of the way and let the experience happen naturally.

MMI handled everything behind the scenes, from the pre-cruise hotel stay to all onboard logistics. When small issues came up, the team resolved them before they became anything worth mentioning.

The Outcome

The moments the client remembered most weren't the planned ones. Attendees kept running into each other throughout the trip and turning those chance encounters into impromptu gatherings. Nobody felt herded. Nobody felt scheduled. The experience had the kind of energy that's hard to manufacture and easy to lose when a program gets rigid.

The client described it this way: "Being on a ship was nice because it allowed our earners the space to create their own itinerary and experience the trip they earned how they wanted to. The experience felt authentic and not forced. It was truly wonderful." She also noted: "In the world of travel where hiccups can happen often, [MMI] makes it easy and stress free."
